The famous German 'bucket car' and military version of the famous Volkswagen (people's car), this original 1941 version was acquired in 2002. Although lacking some of the mountain-goat abilities of the American jeep, it was an economical, tough little vehicle, and served the Wehrmacht well indeed. A common Hollywood misconception is that all German armor and vehicles of the Second World War were painted gray. 2. Panzer's vehicles are all painted in the correct Heer (army) 3-color camouflage scheme used in 1944. This helped vehicles blend into the leaves and shadows of the heavily-wooded European countryside.
